Great start to another trip. The trail system doesn’t start until day 2 (Saturday) so I took the opportunity to see some backroads throughout Northern IL and SW WI, It was mid 80’s , partly cloudy and perfect riding weather. Left Middleton around 2:30 and headed down to Cedarville, IL to visit one of the best educators I’ve ever had. Eric Donaldson was not only my Art teacher from grades 5 – 12, but was also my track coach all throughout high school. The visit was short , but we managed to chat about bikes, trail systems, retirement, health, cabins. and a bunch of other topics. It was no doubt great to connect again. We want to get at least one ride in this Fall.

From Cedarville, IL I shot back up to WI and made my way to Prairie du Chien and stopped at my Aunt and Uncle’s house for the night. I didn’t get there until 8:30, but they were patient enough to wait for me before firing up the grill and throwing the steaks on. The attached map screenshots show the overall trail system with alternate routes for difficulty and the other is what I’ll probably ride today (Saturday). I don’t really have a day by day plan, just going to go and see where I end up. The attached vid at the bottom shows I was going 101 mph at one point, nope, mid 70s if that. That app has always been way off on speed for some reason.
