No turning back now! Federal Motorcycle Transport just stopped by the house and picked up the bike. It should arrive to my friend Matt’s house in the next couple weeks. He just happens to live on the trail. Bikes are ready, gear packed and now we have another month before this thing starts. I’m on the modified 2023 Yamaha Tenere 700, Jeff will be on the 2007 KTM 525, and Ron has a 2024 KTM 500 exc-f. We’re old and gray, but still have passion for this stuff. I was out voted on camping so we are going to use Airbnbs along the trail and maybe a motel. Plus side to that is we get to shed some unnecessary weight. I know we have a Yurt, cabin and a few other places off the New Mexico Backcountry Discovery Route so that should be fun. Still need to tweak the GoPros and the wireless control module, grab a roll of quarters for car washes, double check electronics/cables, study maps, watch the weather, and brush up on YouTube/ridebdr.com, but all in all I think we are ready.
